Sports Baby Shower Decor & Games

Hello and welcome to the blog! Last month I worked on a very important project, preparing all the decor and games for a family member’s baby shower! I had so much fun finding ideas and making everything! Shout out to my sister and Mom for helping to gather ideas and putting together all the snacks for the baby shower. Let’s get into some of the DIYs I completed to bring this sports baby shower together!

Baby Shower Decorations

We thought a super cute way to store napkins and utensils would be to make sports-themed containers.

  • I bought the metal buckets from a craft store, then made the challenge flag and penalty flag signs with black scrapbook paper and Sharpie paint pens.

  • I spray painted 4 glass jars that I already owned with a base color; 2 white, 1 brown, and 1 orange. After the spray paint was dry I painted the corresponding lines for the design of the jar with Sharpie paint pens. I used some ribbon to finish off the top.

Supplies to recreate these DIYs:

  • Metal bucket

  • Scrapbook paper

  • Sharpie paint pens

  • Spray paint

  • Ribbon

This baby shower is blending two families to become one, and with that, we wanted to make sure that the family members who mainly speak Spanish had a great time at the baby shower as well. To achieve that I made all the signs in both English and Spanish!

  • I used a sign kit from The Dollar Tree to create these signs. The kit was originally for a bridal shower, so I flipped the banner panels to the back and painted them blue and white. This kit came with sticker letters, which was great, but I had to use a Sharpie paint pen to make them red instead of pink. I added sports stickers to make the signs more festive. I painted the wood cutouts on the ends by hand with craft paint.

Supplies to recreate this DIY:

  • Banner kit

  • Sports stickers

  • Sports wood cutouts

  • Sharpie paint pens

Other items used to achieve this look:

  • Snack display rack

  • Soccer goals & players

  • Field goal posts

  • Striped table cloth

I painted various wood cutouts for the baby shower, and found this great mini baseball bat holder from a thrift store that was perfect for holding our guest book bat!

My husband had the idea to make each game a baseball base, so I found these flexible bases. It was a fun addition to the baby shower decor.

Baby Shower Games

Guess How Many Peanuts

Using peanuts for the Guess How Many Game was a nice nod to peanuts being a fan favorite at baseball games, and luckily my Dad loves peanuts so he took them home after the baby shower!

How Big is Mommy’s Belly?

How Big is Mommy’s Belly is a classic baby shower game, and it’s always a fun one. It was a close call on who the winner was for this game, and everyone was super invested in figuring out who the winner was!

Don’t Say Baby & The Pacifier Hunt

The Don’t Say Baby game is played throughout the baby shower, and we took this game very seriously, everyone was trying to trick other people into saying Baby! The Pacifier Hunt was over as quickly as it started with Mom-to-be rushing around the house to find the most pacifiers!

DIY lanyards and clothespins for Don’t Say Baby and The Pacifier Hunt. See my Instagram Reel linked at the bottom of the page to see how I made these sports-theme game accessories.

Diaper Basketball

One of the most entertaining games we played at the baby shower was diaper basketball. I found this basketball hoop at Joanne’s Fabrics, and you can paint/stain it however you want! We had 30 seconds to make as many diapers into the hoop as we could. Check out my Instagram Reel to this game in action!
