Monthly Book Roundup: March 2024

Hello and welcome to the blog! I’ve really gotten back into reading the last two years, and I thought it would be fun to document my reads on the blog! Fantasy has always been my genre of choice, but I also love a fun quick romance read between series with a bit more world-building. This year I also want to dip my toe into some dark mystery, if you have any recommendations! I would love to know what you’re reading, let me know in the comments below or DM me on Instagram. I also track my books on StoryGraph, as a scientist I just love all the data they compile from your books! If you’re on StoryGraph, let’s be friends! Let’s get into the books I’ve read and listened to this month!

  1. Gold(The Plated Prisoner Series Book 5)

    Author: Raven Kennedy Format: Digital

    • The Plated Prisoner series follows Auren, the royal “pet” of King Midas. Auren is gold-touched, completely covered in gold, and is kept in a cage by King Midas so no one can take her from him (or so we think). The books take you through the uprising and downfall of kings, how Auren came to be a gold-plated prisoner, and in the later books how Auren’s life will change as more information comes to light about King Midas. The latest book in The Plated Prisoner series has a ton going on simultaneously. The main characters are all split up, so you switch character POV in almost every chapter. I was kept on my toes for most of the book, I had no idea what would happen! I enjoyed getting to see the growth of certain characters, and overall I enjoyed the book. There is supposed to be one more book in the series to finish it off, we’ll see where it goes! This book took me much longer to finish than I anticipated, so that’s all I was able to read for March.
